    Get proof of postage in-branch

Royal Mail Signed For items need to be posted in our Post Office branch, not a post box, to make sure that the parcel is tracked from the point it’s dropped off. When you do, you’ll be given a Certificate of Posting. Keep it safe – you’ll need it if you want to claim compensation for loss or damage.

    Restricted and prohibited items

For safety reasons and to comply with national and international regulations, we restrict or prohibit certain items from our network. We may ask you about the contents of your parcel so we can make sure your items are safe to post.

You’re responsible for making sure you’re not posting any restricted or prohibited items, so it’s best to make sure you know what’s allowed and what isn’t. You might be surprised to learn that items like batteries and perfumes are subject to some restrictions.
